THESE DAYS...

Posted on: Tuesday

These days, we've been relishing the last traces of warmth and sun & making the park a daily destination (and I'm afraid that the summer heat is finally gone now, as today was a sweater & scarf kind of day). We've been eating a little too much ice cream and staying out on our evening walks a little too late, and really pushing the boundaries of summertime city adventuring. These days, we've been hustling and running, working, commuting, shopping, playing, relaxing when we make ourselves, and generally living in a constant state of slight mayhem- twenty four hours a day. Maybe its the change of seasons and the sense of urgency that arrives with the fall, but life feels SO FULL lately. And yet there is still so much to be done.  Sometimes (ok, most of the time) it all feels a bit overwhelming, but somehow we get by. These days, we've been eagerly waiting for Biet to take the plunge and begin walking, but she remains a crawler. She took those first steps, but that seems to be it... so far. Any day now baby girl, any day. While it is a bit nerve-wracking to imagine her fully mobile, I can only imagine the relief of not having to carry her everywhere.  As more and more baby weight creeps onto my belly, holding Biet in my arms for prolonged periods is becoming more and more of a serious task, so I am really looking forward to being able to hold her hand instead.  These days, she's been becoming quite the curious little thing, interested in how everything fits together and comes apart, interested in her potty, interested in all of the other kids and the playground. It makes this Mama so proud.  Yes, these days have been good days, good late summer days. These days, our lives look a lot like this...

  3. I'm right there with you. And after I wrote out a little of my frustration I feel so much better. Although my little guy is walking more and more, hes still a crawler first and walks when he feels like it =)
