* A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013. *

Biet: refusing all clothing except a diaper and a knitted hat. She has her ways about her.

I'm really looking forward to being a part of the 52 Project this year.  When I first discovered the beautiful project through Jodi's 2012 series, I loved the idea of visually documenting a child's growth through a mother's eyes.  It will definitely take a bit of discipline to consistently shoot portraits each week, but it will be so amazing to look back through them at the end of the year.

Among the dozens of creative women around the world who have joined in this year are few of my favorite lady blogger friends: Julie, Steph, Ronnie, & Kate.  It will be so inspiring to follow each of them as they chronicle their little ones.

And you may notice that I wrote "a portrait of my children..." above. Biet will be the star of this series for the next 6 or 7 weeks, but then this little boy will be at her side.  I can't wait for the sleeping squish-faced newborn portraits to begin.

If you're joining in feel free to leave a link in a comment so I can follow you too!

  2. You could also do portraits of your growing belly, because technically that -is- your child. :P Cute idea though. I'm sure you'll capture many precious memories.

  4. She's so beautiful! I love this challenge, but I'm not taking part since I'm already pretty obsessed with capturing my little guy. I should challenge myself to photograph anything else :) Looking forward to seeing portraits of your growing family this year.
