When you are a mom of two little babies, sometimes you have to put your life on hold. Your children are your world. Your days smell of milk and baby food. Your house is in disarray. The laundry piles up and the bathroom is not clean. There is just so many chores to do and yet so little time. Because all your time is spent with these two active balls of energy who refuse to sleep or even leave your side even just for a minute. This is your reality. This is what every day looks like and you just have to make it through one day at a time.
With taking care of the babies, the crazy errands you have to finish, and the half-forgotten household chores, there is little time for anything else. If your energy is not yet drained by the end of the day, you must be a superhero of some sort. Tell me how you do it! But I know us moms are superheroes in our own right. I never imagined I could do all these things. If you asked me if I would be willing to be a stay at home mom when I was younger, I would have answered, “Hell, no!” I would hire a babysitter to do the job for me while I live my life the way I want to. But it doesn’t work that way. When you have seen your precious little babies for the first time, you know there’s no one in the world you would entrust them with, except maybe for your mother. You want to be there for them, to take care of them by yourself, to wipe every tear in their eye, and to see every milestone in their early years.
Ah yes, this is what motherhood has done to me. My house may be a mess but I’m sure I have a happy and healthy bunch of kiddos who lovingly call me their Mama.
